The Mission Call

Elder Connor Boyd's mission call arrived on Friday, April 24, 2015 after nearly four weeks of waiting in anticipation and daily checking of the mailbox. It was the day of his Senior Prom and his sister had a volleyball tournament, so the family wouldn't all be together before he left to Prom, and we HAD to be together when he read his call.

Taking his dog along, Connor drove up to his favorite spot in the mountains near our Alpine, Utah home, and privately opened his call and absorbed the reality and the responsibility of the commitment he was about to undertake. Late that night when he returned form his date, he woke us all up to share his call with us. An experience we will always remember as a family.

Here's a link to the video so it's like you were there with us in your Spongebob PJs too.

Prior to the title of "Missionary" or "Elder", Connor Boyd was known mostly by the description "Baseball Player".  A right-handed submarine-style pitcher and Designated Hitter (DH) for his high school Lone Peak Knights Baseball team, Connor sent in his papers and received his mission call toward the end of his senior season. Here's a glimpse of pre-mission baseballer, Connor Boyd.
